Monkey King Part II - Monkey’s Underwater Voyage - The Staff of the Milky Way
Feeling the need of an extraordinary weapon, Monkey plunges into the ocean and travels underwater to the palace of the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea. After meeting with Monkey, the Dragon takes him to his treasury where Monkey finds the Staff of the Milky Way, 20 feet long and weighing 13,500 pounds, with which the bed of the Milky Way was pounded flat in the creation of the heavens and the stars. In Monkey’s hands, the staff magically assumes any length he wishes, but it still weighs almost 7 tons, and Monkey is the only mortal creature who can wield the iron staff. Having satisfied himself that he now has the best weapon in the world, Monkey sets off to make his way back home through the ocean’s depths.
